Flow Club alternative: no account, no camera, no session you can miss
Flow Club sessions are hosted: someone opens the room, there is music, everyone names a goal. The focus room has none of that — no host, no music, no running order. Just the same clock and a number.
Try it instead of reading about it
The room is open right now. Nothing is created when you enter one.
| Dimension | Focus room | Flow Club |
|---|---|---|
| Format | an open room on a fixed beat: 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of break, the same clock for everyone | a hosted session with music and a round of goals, booked from a calendar |
| Accountability | none, by design — nobody sees you, nobody notices when you leave. The other side of that coin: there is no appointment to miss and no partner you can let down | medium to high — a host and a group see you, and goals are said out loud |
| Getting in | type a room name, share the link, you are in | create an account, pick a session in the calendar, subscribe after the trial |
| Camera | none; the room shows a number and nothing else | video is part of the format |
| What the provider knows about you | nothing durable — a random token held in memory for 90 seconds, no cookie, no database row | an account, session history, the goals you stated, a video connection |
| Language | English and German | English |
| Access without an account | yes — the room opens straight from the URL | account required |
A Focusmate alternative with no account and no camera: an open focus room in the browser, 25 minutes on a shared clock. Honest about what Focusmate still does better.
A Flown alternative with no account: an open focus room in the browser, 25 minutes on a shared clock. Honest about when guided deep-work sessions are the better choice.
A Caveday alternative with no account: an open focus room in the browser on a 25-minute beat. Honest about what facilitated three-hour blocks do better.
Is there a host in the focus room?
No. There is nobody who opens, reminds, or follows up. The only thing setting the pace is the clock, and it runs on your own device.
Are there fixed times?
The room runs around the clock on a 25/5 beat. There is one fixed appointment on top of that: an evening round at 20:00 Swiss time that you can commit to in advance. That is the only scheduled thing that exists.
Why no music?
Because music would need licensing, and because most people already have their own playing. The room is deliberately silent.
What does the focus room cost?
Nothing. There is no account, no subscription, and no trial that runs out.
