Football Matchday Journal

3 fields after the final whistle — how was your head, what was the key mental moment, what do you take away. In under a minute. Stored locally in your browser, no login, no score, no streak. After 6 games: ONE pattern card showing whether the mental work is paying off.

Slider + 2 short sentences. Tags optional (penalty, error reset, nerves …). The tight format prevents the note from turning into a self-criticism loop.

When do you actually not need this tool?

Notes app works. Three lines in Apple Notes or a WhatsApp message to yourself work just as well. The added value here: the pattern card after 6 games, which is hard to spot by hand.

The ride home works. Think through the three questions on the way off the pitch, then type them in at home in 30 seconds. Exactly as you thought them.

Coach conversation works. If you already reflect with someone after the game, you don't necessarily need this — it's for the moment when you're on your own.

Counterproductive, when the journal becomes a compulsory self-criticism session after every game. Then take a break — skipping one game's entry is completely fine. The tool is a mirror, not a tribunal.
